Nitin Bawa, MD, MBA finished his medical school from University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) in 2001. He did his residency in Internal Medicine at UIC hospital. He also has an MBA in Health Services Management and Finance from Loyola University Chicago. His Bachelor’s degree is in Chemistry from Northwestern University where he did research on Alzheimer’s disease and also co-authored a research paper published in Experimental Neurology. 

While in medical school, Dr. Bawa did an externship at Kennedy Space Center, Florida where he had the opportunity to work with Flight Surgeons and astronauts and did some research on Aerospace Medicine. He has also volunteered with the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent in India. 

He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and writes about medicine related topics in the local newspaper, The Destin Log. Dr Bawa and his wife, Shruti routinely work out at the Watercolor Fitness Center and enjoy all kinds of water related activities in Florida.
